Debra Buchanan

Debra was hired by the Workers Compensation Division in 1989 as a Disability Analyst in the former Evaluation Unit and later also served one year as a manager of that unit.  She was promoted to the Appellate Review Unit as a Disability Analyst 2 in 1991.  Debra then became the manager of the Appellate Review Unit, in the Dispute Resolution Section (RDRSS) of WCD, from mid- 1997 until June 2002.  Debra  became the manager of the Medical Review Unit (also in RDRSS) in June 2002 and enjoys the challenges and issues.  Prior to 1989, Debra spent 8 years as a nurse in California.  Her nursing experience includes working in an acute care hospital for 5 years, as well as in a small office setting.  Debra holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Communication and is a certified mediator and thoroughly enjoys utilizing her training and skills in dispute resolution. Juerg Kunz, DC

Juerg  joined the Worker's Compensation Division as a Medical Reviewer in October 2002. He served as a corporal in the Army Medical Corps.  In 1988, he received his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Texas Chiropractic College. After graduation, Juerg practiced in Switzerland for a year, followed by practicing for 12 years in Austin, Texas.
