INTRODUCTION-BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

GEORGE WALDMANN M. D.

 

George Waldmann M. D. is a 1965 graduate of the University of Oregon Medical School.  He did a rotating internship at Denver General Hospital followed by two years in the United States Public Health Service, Division of Indian Health, on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browning, Montana.  This was followed by the successful completion of a Family Practice residency in Santa Rosa, California.  He then entered private Family Practice in rural Madras, Oregon, where he remained for the next 27 years.  During that time he also served as president of the Oregon Medical Association as well as serving for many years as a delegate to the AMA. 

 

In 1997 he left private practice to become Carrier Medical Director for the Part B Medicare program in Oregon.  In 2001 he also became Carrier Medical Director for the Part B Medicare program in North Dakota and assumed this same position in South Dakota in 2003. 

 

He is a Charter Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice and has been

recertified five times, most recently in 2001. He is a regular volunteer physician at the Wallace Medical Concern Rockwood Clinic in Gresham, Oregon, and is a regular attending physician with a faculty appointment as Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine in Portland, Oregon.
